The Marine and Terrestrial Ritual of Salvation is a most solemn Buddhist ceremony, in which prayers are offered up for all beings. Monks pray for eight days and nights, and more than 100 masters prepare for the ceremony.

During the eight days of the ceremony, monks spill and purify the chancel, pray at every altar and escort the statue of the deity. On the last day’s parade, devotees receive flowers and souvenirs.
