4th Macau A-Ma Cultural and Tourism Festival
4th Macau A-Ma Cultural and Tourism Festival
30 October 2006
Every year, a series of activities are hosted by the Goddess A-Ma Foundation of Macau in the A-Ma Cultural Village on Alto de Coloane, to celebrate the Chung Yeung Festival. This year, in addition to the dedication ceremonies, a Shanghai group will perform traditional dances for the 4th Macau A-Ma Cultural and Tourism Festival, with many adherents from the Mainland and overseas expected to attend.

The world’s tallest statue of the goddess A-Ma - carved in white jade standing 19.99 metres high and weighing over 500 tons - was erected in Coloane in October 1998.

A free shuttle bus is available to transport visitors from the foot of Alto de Coloane to the A-Ma Cultural Village. Buses depart from Estrada de Seac Pai Van near the petrol station - accessed by bus services No. 21, 21A, 25, 26 and 26A - and a short walk from the ceremonial arch over the road leading to the Village. The daily service runs every 30 minutes from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm.
