19th Macao Arts Festival to Be Held From 1-30 May 2008

The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government presents the 19th Macao Arts Festival (MAF) to be held between 1 and 30 May, 2008.
Featuring more than 30 performances by artists from Israel, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, Spain, Canada and South Korea, the Festival season would not be complete without the ever-present spirit of performers from Macao and Mainland China, as well.

Grand Prix of Macau 2008 To Be Officially Held on November 13-16
[ November 13, 2008 to November 16, 2008. ] During their meeting held last week in Monaco, the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) approved the 2008 FIA World Touring Car Championship calendar, motorsport.com has reported.
The series will start at Curitiba, Brazil, on March 2 and will come to an end at the Grand of Macau on November 16.
Historical 19th Century Paintings of Macao
[ December 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007. ] During the 18th Century, a large number of the West European painters arrived at Chinese coastal cities due to intensive trade between China and the Mediterranean countries in Europe. To commemorate their visits, works produced by the western painters were largely about the life, customs and scenery of the places which they had visited.
Macau Fringe 2007
[ November 10, 2007 to November 25, 2007. ] With the last festival having occurred in 2005, the organisers, The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) decided that a more significant contribution from local organisations was needed. As a result, there was a time-out period called for last year, in order to allow the IACM to encourage local artists and organisations to step up to the challenge, creating a festival this year with a total budget of about MOP 1.4 million.
