StarWorld Hotel & Casino was awarded the 2009 Platinum Award and named one of  the “Top Ten Most Popular Hotels” in China, at the fifth summit of the International Hotel Forum Organization (IHFO). StarWorld was the only hotel in Macau to be granted this distinction from IHFO. Within three years of opening, StarWorld has already been granted eleven awards. This latest recognition from IHFO is a testament to StarWorld’s remarkable design and unparalleled service in the hotel industry. IHFO’s Platinum Award is sponsored by the International Hotel Forum Organization, which promotes cooperation between hotel owners, managers, investment banks, and encourages the protection of intellectual property rights, the development of corporate brands and human capital, and hosts the platinum awards.

The awards were organized in conjunction with numerous media outlets, including The People’s Daily, Phoenix Satellite TV, the Travel Channel, and Sina Business Channel. The final ten hotels were selected on the basis of adjudication from the council, as well as from votes cast by the general population (sent in online and via text messages).
