Hot on yesterdays news, that our Macau Motorsport race ambassador Rodolfo Avila has left British Formula 3 Championship, it’s now confirmed that he is to compete in the inaugural International Formula Master (IFM) season with Italian top team Cram Competition.
Rodolfo Avila is at his peak of motivation and he is ready to take the challenge of another tough season in European motorsport. “I am really looking forward the season start. The championship package is quite good and the cars looks very aerodynamic and professional. The track tests proved it is faster than a F3. We are going to compete within all the 2007 European rounds of the FIA World Touring Car Championship and will get live TV coverage of all the races at the same top audience time each race weekend at Eurosport. This is very important for my sponsors”, states Asian Formula Renault 2003 Champion.

“The gears are the biggest difference to a F3 car. The gearshift and clutch paddles are on the wheel but I just need some time to get used. I am not worry as I have big faith in my team. I know they are going to support me when we face the normal racing hitches. Cram Competition has a massive international reputation and when we looked for the first time to IFM, Cram was the easy choice. I visited the workshop and met Marcello Rosei and his people. They have a plan and they want results as I want.
We just need to go to the track now and I know their huge experience will help me a lot during the season” , says the young Macanese driver who is supported by Macau Government, Macau-slot.com, BNU, CESLAsia, PAL AsiaConsult, TsingTao, Fat Siu Lau Restaurant, Sujika Crafts e PT Asia.
The first collective test session and the Series’ first team shakedown will be at Monza on 26/27 April. The IFM season will start on 20 May at Valencia, Spain. The 20 years old driver is confident about the results. “I think the level of the driver in this Series is also good. I have my ambitions but I prefer to wait and see who is going to appear. But who doesn’t desire podiums and victories?”
Rodolfo Avila will not leave F3 as he is going to be in the grid of Macau Grand Prix 2007. Future plans about his F3 challenge will come soon.
