Pak Tai Temple is the unique temple in the territory that is dedicated to the Taoist God of Pak Tai (God of the North). It is situated at Rua do Regedor. According to the inscription stamped on the wall of the interior, the temple was first constructed in the times of Emperor Tou Kuong of the Cheng Dynasty in 1844, having a long history of more than 150 years.

No one should miss the painting and the images of different gods on the facade of the temple, nor the two poems engraved on the main door, which are in praise of the divine merits of the God of the North. The reverence for the Pak Tai, named also as God Chan Mou or God Yun Mou, is one of the highest Taoist worship. He is one of the gods of Wind, like the God of Green Dragon, White Tiger and the Red Bird. Pak Tai is considered, at the same time, as the God of Water, who control all the aquatic spirits.

The Pak Tai Temple was reconstructed twice, first in 1882, with the donations from the local residents, and the last in 1994 accomplished by the Macau Cultural Institute, further subsidized by the Orient Foundation.
