Masterworks of Romanticism Series “Northern Light”
Finnish Conductor Okko Kamu was the first prizewinner of the First International Karajan Conductor Competition in 1969, since when he embarked upon an extensive international career. During the last three decades he has collaborated with renowned orchestras and artists from all over the world.
Maestro Kamu presents the two best known compositions of Sibelius as well as Glazunov’s only Violin Concerto, performed by acclaimed Chinese violinist Qian Zhou. The winner of the Marguerite Long/Jacques Thibaud Competition (1987) is described by Strad magazine as “a significant world-class artist.”
