Yes, it’s safe. The government’s near-paranoiac level of caution about the disease means that you shouldn’t worry about getting infected. However, if you’re arriving from North America (all of it) expect some extra scrutiny and quarantine if you have a high temperature.
It’s as safe, or unsafe, as any other place.
Right now there have been no community outbreaks of H1N1 in Hong Kong, but seems they expect one any day soon. We have today the first school closing for 2 weeks. So, stay tuned and watch the news.
comparing the cases in USA, Mexico, Japan… we r just at the kindergarten level. we hv a few cases happening here & cnfm’d but they r all safe & good. some even left the hospital. all the cases that we discovered in HK were ALL back fr the US + Canada. so i guess if u r not travelling to the US or neabry that side. u wil be fine.
oh god – just come.
dont postpone anything, dont cancel anything
its the same everywhere – you have this government and media spurred fear of all these “outbreaks” and everyone freaks out because they don’t know much about it and you create a fear of this unknown.
it is safe to travel, i’m from hong kong, i’ve lived in hong kong all my life, and this summer im traveling to three different countries / places.
just come. you’ll regret it otherwise
PS macau is a bit boring so spend 1 day there
